This weekend has presented some really funny experiences: Adelaide's Botanic Garden, The Garden of UnEarthly Delights, and Italian Pizza.
Adelaide's Botanic Garden
One of my tasks for my studio course was to go to the Botanic Gardens and take photos to inspire some drawings. These photos are supposed to be macro (really close up) and are going to be manipulated digitally in any way I chose (the manipulation should be inspired by the image itself). So I will share with you an assortment of scenic views so you can get a feel of the garden, as well as some of my favorite close up images.

The Garden of UnEarthly Delights
One part of Adelaide's Fringe Festival is what's called The Garden of UnEarthly Delights. It is basically a large outdoor garden where old style circus meets middway rides meets boutique and food stands meets beer gardens. It is free to get in (resulting in a long long line) however everything costs a lot when you get in. Rides are $8-$9 each and burgers are $12-$20. There are lots of shows which are mostly comedians or cabaret style. We spent some time walking around and taking it all in and then headed home for the night.
Italian Pizza
On Saturday I went to the beach with Gerald, Matteo, and Fan. As we rode the tram away from the core of Adelaide city it became clear that we were also leaving the clear blue skies and sunshine behind us. Still we persevered and hung out on the beach for a little while chatting. The Italians divulged that they really missed pizza and since one of them doesn't even have an oven he has no way to use the special pizza yeast he brought all the way from Italy with him. I told him he was welcome to use my oven whenever he wanted and a full blown pizza making night came to be. Dough from scratch created beautiful thin crust pizzas which were delicious!
So those have been my adventures this week. The second week of school is about to begin... Hope you all had a good weekend too!
